Auckland Chinese Presbyterian Church - English Ministry

Strategic Vision: 2016-18

Overall Vision: To know Jesus and make Him known

Our Verse for 2016-17:

But in your hearts, revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15)

Our Vision:

Our mission is to create Christ-minded disciples who have a heart for our community, a mind that meditates on the things of God, a soul that is completely satisfied in God. We will do this with all our strength.

Our Vision for ACPC-EM: 2016-2018

We seek first of all to be known as a community who worship Jesus Christ. Through the education and spiritual development of all our people, we seek to grow in Him and to grow together in love and grace. As we know Jesus, we seek to make Him known in our neighbourhood, beginning in Vincent St. We do this through hospitality, programmes in and with the community, through pastoral care, service to others and through sharing our faith.

Strategic Planning for 2016-2018: The Basic Documents and Key Images

  1. Our strategic plans are set out in the ACPC-EM Two Year Plan 2016-2018 and in the report and decisions of the 2016 Annual General Meeting.

  2. ACPC-EM seeks to be an “adapter plug church”; we are “plugged into the gospel”, which is timeless, unchanging and complete. At the same time we are “plugged into the inner-city” of Auckland which is constantly changing.

  3. We are “God’s Kitchen” in Vincent St. A kitchen is a place of warmth, of service to the King and community, of learning to cook, of chatter, welcome and eating together.

Strategic Planning Principles:

  1. A clear sense of discernment through prayer and personal and group Bible study that God is calling us to be His people in this place with this particular calling.

  2. An increasingly informed and well-researched understanding of the population of the inner-city, and especially of the area around the Church

  3. An informed, sensitive and well-thought out understanding and use of the resources, personal gifts and talents which God has provided in the people of our Church.

  4. Deciding together as EMLT on what ministry and mission events should be undertaken and seeking always to involve every member of the congregation.
